Tea Tree Oil
Botanical Name: Melaleuca Alternifolia
Steam distilled from the leaves of this Australian native tree, Tea Tree oil is a distinctive and powerful oil. Cultivation and oil extraction are a growing industry in Australia. Many official sites claim there is no evidence for the effectiveness of Tea Tree as an antibacterial, but also there is very little research on the topic.
Tea tree is used to bring a masculine clean note to bath products. It is said to be called “tea tree” because Captain Cook made a tea from it when visiting Australia.
