About the Ingredients
Our Bath Bombs are made with a blend of Baking Soda and Citric Acid. This is a balanced concoction that refreshes and softens skin. Since there is no added oil or colorant, these treats don't make a mess of your bath tub. This product is intended to be used in the presence of large amounts of water.
|Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)||What It Is: A dense white powder.|
How It's Used: Adds alkalinity to bath and body products. It is a skin softener and a deodorizer. It is used in combination with Citric Acid to create fizzing in bath salts.
How It's Made: Beginning with natural minerals that are mined, soda ash is created and processed, purified, dried and powdered.
|Citric Acid||What It Is: A grainy white solid.|
How It's Used: Added to cosmetic formulas to alter the pH and is also used to create fizz in bath bombs.
How It's Made: Produced commercially by microbial fermentation of a carbohydrate substrate.
|Water, Isopropanol||What It Is: A clear watery liquid with a distinct alcohol odor.|
How It's Used: Add astringency to cosmetic preparations.
How It's Made: Water and propene are hydrolyzed, then distilled to extract the alcohol.
|Fragrance||What It Is: A golden viscous liquid.|
How It's Used: Adds fragrance - an irresistable combination of warm sandalwood and spice.
How It's Made: Professionally formulated in the USA by IFRA certified perfumers, never tested on animals, skin safe, phthalate free
|Styrax Benzoin (Benzoin) Oil||What It Is: Benzoin oil has a richly sweet, powdery and vanilla-like aroma. In aromatherapy, it is said to induce euphoria and promote emotional healing.|
How It's Used: Benzoin has some occlusive properties which help hold moisture in the skin.
How It's Made: The bark of the tree is cut to make the sap "weep" out, then weeks later the tears are collected. Benzoin is usually diluted in an alcohol solvent to make it usable as an oil.
