About the Ingredients
Our Bath Bombs are made with a blend of Baking Soda and Citric Acid. This is a balanced concoction that refreshes and softens skin. Since there is no added oil or colorant, these treats don't make a mess of your bath tub. This product is intended to be used in the presence of large amounts of water.
|Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)||What It Is: A dense white powder.|
How It's Used: Adds alkalinity to bath and body products. It is a skin softener and a deodorizer. It is used in combination with Citric Acid to create fizzing in bath salts.
How It's Made: Beginning with natural minerals that are mined, soda ash is created and processed, purified, dried and powdered.
|Citric Acid||What It Is: A grainy white solid.|
How It's Used: Added to cosmetic formulas to alter the pH and is also used to create fizz in bath bombs.
How It's Made: Produced commercially by microbial fermentation of a carbohydrate substrate.
|Water, Isopropanol||What It Is: A clear watery liquid with a distinct alcohol odor.|
How It's Used: Add astringency to cosmetic preparations.
How It's Made: Water and propene are hydrolyzed, then distilled to extract the alcohol.
|Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil||What It Is: With a fresh, sweet citrus character, Lime is a traditionally male fragrance. Some distillations yield an almost floral character to the oil. The aromatherapy of Lime and most citrus fragrances is thought to be uplifting, and lending clarity and alertness of mind.|
How It's Used: Lime oil is balancing and rejuvenating to skin. Like all citrus oils, when used undiluted, this oil can cause sensitivity to sunlight.
How It's Made: Oil is steam distilled from the peel of the fruit.
|Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Oil||What It Is: The scent is mostly quite herbaceous, but depending on the source plants, can be spicy, fruity, floral, or citrusy. In aromatherapy, Geranium is a balancing and comforting fragrance.|
How It's Used: It is a skin balancing astringent.
How It's Made: The oil is extracted from the leaves and stems of the plant, sometimes also including the flower. It is typically steam distilled.
Fill the tub with warm water to your liking. Add the bath bomb, enter tub, and enjoy the fizz and fragrance. Soak for up to one hour.
